About Dr. Kate Connelly
My name is Kate, and I’m passionate about empowering neurodivergent adults to discover, understand, and fully embrace their identities—no matter where they are on their journey.
Whether you’re just starting to explore your neurodivergence or deepening your self-awareness, I’m here to offer support, insight, and compassion. I draw from both my lived experience and deep understanding of the different ways neurodivergence can present.
I have a particular passion for helping women, AFAB individuals, high-masking adults, and those with non-stereotypical presentations of Autism and ADHD. If you’ve ever felt like you don’t quite fit the dominant, limiting views of what neurodivergence is, you’re not alone—and you deserve to be seen, heard, and understood.
How My Passion for Neurodivergent-Affirming Assessment and Therapy Developed
The journey to self-discovery looks different for every late-identified neurodivergent person. For me, it began after the birth of my daughter. Becoming a mother was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. But I quickly noticed that things felt harder than they should. Tasks I once managed easily became overwhelming, and I struggled to keep up with my obligations.
Searching for answers led me down a winding path—one that ultimately led to the realization that I am neurodivergent. For the first time, my life finally made sense.
Looking back, I realized that before motherhood, my perfectionism and sheer determination had helped me mask the challenges of living in a world not designed for me. But with so much on my plate, my old coping strategies didn’t work anymore. That’s when I started learning how to work with my brain instead of against it. My journey of self-discovery sparked a passion for understanding neurodivergence and neurodiversity. Now, I get the great honor of helping others navigate their own paths to clarity and self-acceptance
Discovering my own neurodivergence later in life was a transformative experience. It opened my eyes to a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me.
I began embracing my unique strengths and needs. I explored unmasking—both on my own and with people who made me feel safe. I made intentional changes to support the way my brain works. Instead of trying to “fix” myself, I chose self-compassion—and that shift transformed my world. Through my journey, I also came to understand the deep pain of not truly knowing ourselves. I also realized how hard it is to find professionals who really understand.
My mission is to provide informed, neurodivergent-affirming assessments and therapy that go beyond outdated stereotypes of Autism and ADHD, helping people find clarity and validation in their experiences.
I use my education, almost 15 years of professional experience, and lived experience as a neurodivergent person to support you on your unique journey.
I want to support my clients as they embrace their unique neurodiverse identities with confidence.
